About our experts from State Records NSW:

Rhonda Campbell:

Rhonda has worked at State Records NSW since 1988. She is currently Acting Manager, Public Access. In this role Rhonda directs the work of the Public Access Program to ensure the provision and development of services and products for maximising the accessibility of State archives. Prior to this Rhonda held the position of Project Officer, Copying and Digitisation. She has successfully managed a number of large projects such as the digitisation of 2500 Sydney Harbour Bridge images for inclusion in the Historic Houses Trust exhibition Bridging Sydney, and 1000 Aboriginal Welfare Board Photographs for the State Records exhibition In Living Memory. Rhonda also played a major role in the design and development of State Records NSW Image Database PhotoInvestigator.

Emily Hanna:

Emily has worked with State Records NSW since 1994. As Senior Archivist, Access and Information, Emily is responsible for managing the reading room services at the Western Sydney Records Centre at Kingswood. The reading room is a busy public area with researchers using original records and copied records in a variety of formats. Emily co-ordinates the enquiry services concerning the NSW State archives collection, including telephone, email and written enquiries from members of the public and NSW State government staff. Emily plays a key role in the production of the Archives in Brief fact sheet series. Emily is also involved in presenting talks and tours to groups and members of the public.

Janette Pelosi:

Janette Pelosi is an archivist and historian. She has been a member of the Australian Society of Archivists (ASA) and a Convenor of its NSW Branch. She is also a Professional Member of the Professional Historians Association and a Councillor of the Society of Australian Genealogists. She was the winner of Rockdale City Council’s Ron Rathbone Local History Prize 2008 for a history of the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Brigade. She is currently Senior Archivist, Context and Documentation at State Records NSW in Sydney. She is project co-ordinator for State Records major digitisation project ‘Sentenced beyond the Seas: Australia’s early convict records’. She has presented on topics ranging from convict and police records to colonial Australian theatre.
