Inside History magazine has been named a finalist at the annual Publishers Australia Excellence Awards.
The only history magazine to achieve a place, Inside History magazine came fourth in the Multi Channel Brand of the Year category. This competitive category received the largest number of entries, making Inside History’s achievement especially exciting.
One of the judges said that the magazine is:
“A title that has begun as a multimedia offering, giving readers a full experience, including involvement in their personal histories with the brand.”
Inside History editor Cassie Mercer says that the magazine’s placement as a Multi Brand Channel Brand of the Year finalist marks the success of the magazine’s digital strategy.
“We’re still a relatively young publication, celebrating our third birthday in the current edition on-sale, and from the outset a big part of our focus has been to develop digital channels alongside our print. So to have this recognition from Publishers Australia is really encouraging,” Cassie says.
“The momentum we have been able to maintain across our multiple channels really is a testament to the engagement and interest of our readers and followers.”
Online editor and publisher Ben Mercer said that the achievement acknowledged the magazine’s success in building a community of readers across its various platforms.
“We work hard to make sure that Inside History is more than a magazine – it’s a family,” Ben says. “We’re a community that helps each other.”
